About the opportunity
Florida Construction Talent is recruiting an experienced Construction Superintendent for a Florida construction management firm's anticipated municipal water/wastewater projects in the Orlando area. The initial approximately $20 million treatment facility includes a 1-million-gallon prestressed storage tank, yard piping, treatment equipment, electrical/controls, and an operations building. The contractor does not self-perform work; this position is focused on managing subcontractors, field coordination, production, quality, and safety. The initial contract is awaiting award, so final hiring and start dates remain subject to project needs.
Key responsibilities
- Lead daily field execution, site logistics, subcontractor coordination, and construction sequencing.
- Develop short-interval and weekly look-ahead plans covering staffing, deliveries, access, inspections, permits, and equipment.
- Coordinate earthwork, utilities, concrete, tank work, yard piping, process mechanical equipment, electrical installations, controls, and operations-building trades.
- Manage multiple subcontractors and resolve interface or constructability issues before they delay following work.
- Track field production, manpower, delivery status, inspection readiness, progress, and schedule constraints.
- Enforce established project safety requirements; correct hazards and stop unsafe operations when necessary.
- Coordinate layout, concrete placements, pipe testing, equipment setting, quality inspections, and commissioning preparation.
- Make sure work is performed from current approved drawings and specifications.
- Maintain detailed daily reports, progress photos, delay records, and field communications.
- Work closely with the Project Manager, engineers, suppliers, municipality, and trade partners through startup and turnover.
Compensation and benefits
Salary: $85,000–$110,000 per year.
- Medical, dental and vision benefits under the employer's stated 80/20 arrangement; plan and contribution details will be confirmed during hiring.
- Life insurance and a 401(k) retirement plan with a 3% employer match.
- 15 days of paid time off per April–March fiscal year, prorated as applicable; unused PTO does not roll over.
- Bereavement leave.
- Company-provided cell phone and iPad.
- Company truck / vehicle compensation arrangement accounted for within the stated salary package; specific terms will be confirmed by the employer.
