Complete job description
Opening count: 1 position. Location: Orlando area, Florida. Salary: $90,000–$140,000 per year. Employment: Full-time; anticipated opening pending project award.
About the opportunity
Florida Construction Talent is recruiting an experienced Project Manager for a Florida construction management firm's anticipated municipal water and wastewater construction work in the Orlando area. The initial approximately $20 million water treatment project includes a 1-million-gallon prestressed storage tank, yard piping, process mechanical and electrical systems, instrumentation and controls, and an operations building. Additional municipal infrastructure may include a small lift station. This construction management organization does not self-perform trade work; success depends on planning, leading, and holding subcontractors accountable. The initial contract has not yet been awarded, and final hiring and start dates depend on project award.
Key responsibilities
- Manage project delivery from preconstruction and mobilization through testing, commissioning, owner acceptance, and closeout.
- Develop and manage the project budget, cost forecasts, cash flow, procurement plan, CPM schedule, and risk register.
- Lead coordination among municipal owners, engineers, consultants, suppliers, and multiple specialty subcontractors.
- Administer prime contract and subcontracts, changes, contractual notices, RFIs, submittals, pay applications, and claims documentation.
- Coordinate civil/site work, underground yard piping, prestressed tank construction, process equipment, electrical distribution, instrumentation and controls, and the operations building.
- Monitor subcontractor scope, staffing, work sequencing, schedule commitments, safety performance, and construction quality.
- Track long-lead purchases and material delivery schedules; identify conflicts before field work is delayed.
- Run construction and owner coordination meetings, assign follow-up actions, report variances, and implement recovery measures.
- Plan and coordinate system turnover, controls integration, startup, operator training, punch lists, and final closeout.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and report issues affecting contract, schedule, budget, quality, or public-owner commitments.
Compensation and benefits
Salary: $90,000–$140,000 per year.
- Medical, dental and vision benefits under the employer's stated 80/20 arrangement; plan and contribution details will be confirmed during hiring.
- Life insurance and a 401(k) retirement plan with a 3% employer match.
- 15 days of paid time off per April–March fiscal year, prorated as applicable; unused PTO does not roll over.
- Bereavement leave.
- Company-provided cell phone and iPad.
- Company truck / vehicle compensation arrangement accounted for within the stated salary package; specific terms will be confirmed by the employer.
How to apply
Apply directly through Florida Construction Talent for this Orlando-area position.
